BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGER – Surrey – c.£38k + Pension + Profit-share + Excellent Benefits
Our client, a rapidly expanding, internet-based insurance company, wishes to recruit a Business Continuity Manager to be responsible for business continuity at three company locations with 25 individual business recovery plans (BRPs) and a total of 1,400 staff. Reporting to the Risk manager, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the company can recover effectively and efficiently from business interruption arising from a lack of availability of buildings, systems, personnel or key suppliers. Key accountabilities will include: to ensure that the business continuity policy is reviewed and approved at least annually; to work with each company business area to ensure that they implement the governance and controls specified in the policy: to provide advice and guidance on individual BRPs; to work with company relationship and account managers to ensure that appropriate assurance is received from key suppliers; to maintain a central record of the current status of BRPs, test exercises and key supplier business continuity; to act as primary point of contact for internal and external audit functions and regulators. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrable knowledge of the ‘mechanics’ of business continuity planning and disaster recovery with proven exposure to the drafting and exercising of business recovery plans, as well as having the leadership and communication skills required to drive and maintain the visibility, priority and viability of the business recovery plans.
